Wisp · the AI core

An AI that runs the firm’s work, not just talks about it.

Wisp is built into the action layer behind every Firmlytics screen: 850 actions across 18 areas. It answers from live data, proposes plans across modules, shows you what each step will do, and acts once you approve.

See Wisp on your workflows Guardrails

Illustrative example. Each step is a real Firmlytics capability, checked against your permissions before it runs.

01 / How it acts

From a sentence to a committed, audited change.

The same pipeline runs whether the request came from a screen, a spreadsheet import, Wisp or an AI Secretary. Wisp adds understanding and planning; it never adds authority.

  1. 01

    Ask

Plain English, in the app, Slack, Teams or Firmlytics Messaging.

    → request
  2. 02

    Resolve

Turns “Anita” or “the Acme job” into records. Asks “which Anita?” instead of guessing.

    → the right records
  3. 03

    Plan

Every change the request needs, across modules, collected into one plan.

    → plan of steps
  4. 04

    Preview

Each step runs its real validations, then rolls back. The card shows what will happen.

    → confirmation card
  5. 05

    Approve

You tick the steps. High-risk steps need an acknowledgement; four-eyes steps go to a second person.

    → approved plan
  6. 06

    Act

Steps run in order with fresh permission checks, each step able to use the last one’s result.

    → committed changes
  7. 07

    Audit

Every change, by whom and through Wisp, recorded in the audit and AI logs.

    → audit trail

03 / Guardrails

Built for privileged work and real money.

Authority comes from the action layer, not from the model. Whatever model serves a turn, the rules are the same.

01

Never more than you

Everything Wisp does passes the same module, permission, quota and policy checks as the screen you would have used, for the person who asked.

02

Risk tiers

Standard, high and critical. High needs an explicit acknowledgement; critical actions never run inside a multi-step plan or while an admin is impersonating someone.

03

Four-eyes approval

Where the firm requires it, one person asks and a different eligible person approves, and every check re-runs at that moment.

04

Irreversible flagged

Filings, payouts and e-invoice registration are marked as irreversible on the card before anyone approves them.

05

No double changes

Duplicate protection stops the same thing being done twice when a request is repeated.

06

Secretaries have a kill switch

Any AI Secretary can be paused instantly by its owner, a principal or a firm administrator.

04 / Answers

Ask the firm a question. Get the number, not a dashboard.

Wisp computes answers from client work, time, billing and accounts, turns them into tables and charts, and can send them on a schedule or alert you when something moves. A daily digest and memory of your preferences come built in.

Illustrative data. Wisp computes answers from the firm’s own ERP records, within the user’s permissions.

05 / AI Secretaries

Named personas that work for your people.

Each partner can have a Wisp secretary that handles the routine work around them, under the same rules, with a pause switch.

01

Named, owned, accountable

Each AI Secretary is a persona, such as “Meera”, that works for named principals. Members create their own; partners can create shared ones.

02

Where the team already talks

Connect a secretary to Slack, Microsoft Teams or Firmlytics Messaging and mention it in a DM or client channel.

03

Client communication with tiers

Replies to clients are classed: factual updates and scheduling for verified clients in existing threads, versus advice or first contact, which go for approval as drafts.

04

In the field

Debriefs from voice notes, drafts, client calls, errands with proof, and e-sign links.

05

Pause any time

Owners, principals and firm administrators can pause a secretary instantly. A secretary can never change its own settings.

06 / Questions

What partners and IT ask about Wisp.

Is Wisp a chatbot?

No. Wisp answers questions, but it is also wired into the layer behind every Firmlytics screen, about 850 actions across 18 areas, so it can carry out the work once you approve it.

Can Wisp exceed my permissions?

No. Everything Wisp does runs the same module, permission, quota and policy checks as the screen you would have used, for the person who asked.

How do I know what Wisp will do before it does it?

Every proposed change is previewed by running its real validations and then rolling back. You see the result on a confirmation card and choose which steps to run.

What about irreversible or sensitive actions?

They are tiered. High-risk steps need an explicit acknowledgement, critical steps never run inside a multi-step plan, irreversible ones are flagged, and four-eyes actions go to a second person.

Which AI models does Wisp use?

Wisp runs on leading large language models. The model never changes what Wisp is allowed to do: authority comes from the platform’s checks, not the model.

What are AI Secretaries?

Named Wisp personas that work for specific people in Slack, Teams or Firmlytics Messaging: client updates, scheduling, debriefs, drafts and errands, under approval tiers and with a pause switch.
